Water Atomized Copper Powder comes in a pure fine powder form, including irregular and spherical shape. Cu content is 99.7% min.
Copper powder properties of formability, inoxidizability, compressibility, sintering activity and well-developed surface are well-fitted in PM industry.
Two types of water atomized grades are available:
a) High apparent density (range 3-4 g/cm3)
b) Lower apparent density (range 2-3g/cm3)

Electrolytic copper block – smelting – atomization – oxidation – reduction – broken – anti-oxidation treatment – screening – batching – finished product
1. Atomization
Industrialized atomized copper powder production is divided into two types: gas atomization method and water atomization method. Production practice has proved that water atomization production is better than aerosolization.
2. Oxidation
The oxidation process has a great impact on the production of high performance low bulk density copper powder. It has been found in production that the oxidation mode, oxidation time and oxidation temperature have a great influence on the oxidation effect of the powder. Especially in the same oxidation time and oxidation temperature, the oxidation mode has a particularly large effect on the oxidation effect.
The oxidation method is divided into static and dynamic modes. During static oxidation, the copper powder oxidizes very slowly and is prone to agglomeration; dynamic oxidation is not good, so its oxidation effect is very good. For example, under the condition of 5000c/3h, the static oxidation copper powder has a dynamic oxidation oxygen content of 7.5% and a bulk density of 3.80g/cm3; the dynamic copper oxide powder has an oxygen content of 18.7% and a bulk density of 2.32g/cm3.
Of course, proper oxidation temperature and oxidation time are also important during the oxidation process and will not be discussed here.
